WAN

A Wide Area Network (WAN) is a telecommunications network that extends over a large geographic area, connecting multiple local area networks (LANs) and other types of networks. WANs enable communication and data exchange between devices and systems located in different cities, countries, or even continents. They use various technologies, including leased lines, satellite links, and public internet infrastructure, to transmit data over long distances. WANs are essential for organizations with distributed operations, enabling seamless connectivity, remote access, and centralized data management across widespread locations.
