VTP

VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) is a Cisco proprietary protocol used to manage and distribute VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) configurations across network switches. VTP simplifies VLAN administration by allowing network administrators to create, modify, and delete VLANs from a central location, with changes automatically propagated to all switches in the VTP domain. This ensures consistency in VLAN configurations and reduces the risk of configuration errors. VTP operates in different modes, including Server, Client, and Transparent, each offering different levels of control and visibility over VLAN configurations. By using VTP, organizations can efficiently manage large-scale VLAN deployments and maintain network organization.
