TCP/IP

Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is a suite of communication protocols that forms the foundation of the internet and most modern networks. TCP/IP is responsible for breaking data into packets, transmitting them across networks, and ensuring their correct reassembly at the destination. TCP manages data transmission by establishing connections, ensuring data integrity, and handling retransmissions if packets are lost or corrupted. IP handles addressing and routing, ensuring that packets reach the correct destination. Together, TCP/IP enables reliable and efficient data communication across diverse and interconnected networks.
