SSID

Service Set Identifier (SSID) is the name assigned to a wireless network, allowing devices to identify and connect to it. The SSID is broadcast by wireless access points or routers and is visible to devices searching for available networks. It can be either a default name set by the manufacturer or a custom name chosen by the network administrator. The SSID helps users differentiate between multiple wireless networks in the vicinity and select the correct one to connect to. For added security, SSIDs can be configured to be hidden, though this does not provide robust protection against unauthorized access.
