QoS

Quality of Service (QoS) refers to a set of techniques used to manage and prioritize network traffic to ensure optimal performance for critical applications. QoS mechanisms can reduce latency, jitter, and packet loss by prioritizing certain types of traffic, such as voice or video, over others. This is achieved through traffic shaping, bandwidth allocation, and congestion management techniques. By implementing QoS policies, network administrators can ensure that important applications receive the necessary resources for smooth operation, maintain service quality, and improve overall network efficiency, especially in environments with varying traffic loads and diverse application requirements.
