Port Security

Port Security is a network security feature used on switches to control which devices can access the network through specific ports. It helps prevent unauthorized access and mitigate security risks by restricting network access based on MAC addresses. Administrators can configure port security policies to specify allowed MAC addresses, limit the number of devices per port, and take actions such as shutting down a port or generating alerts if a security violation occurs. Port security enhances network integrity and helps protect sensitive information by ensuring that only authorized devices can connect to the network, thereby reducing the risk of security breaches.
