Azure Virtual Network (VNet)
Azure Virtual Network (VNet) is a foundational component in Azure that enables users to create logically isolated, secure networks for their cloud resources. VNets provide full control over IP address ranges, subnetting, and routing, allowing users to securely connect Azure resources like virtual machines, storage, and databases. VNets also support network security groups (NSGs), which provide fine-grained control over inbound and outbound traffic at the subnet or VM level. Azure VNets can be connected to on-premises networks through VPN gateways or ExpressRoute, enabling hybrid cloud solutions. Additionally, VNets allow for inter-virtual network connectivity, making it possible to link multiple VNets together, even across regions, for scalable and flexible architectures. VNets also support service endpoints, which enhance security by allowing Azure resources to securely connect to Azure services like Azure Storage and SQL Database without exposing them to the public internet.
